I’m Agnes and I created the Freemina clothing brand to support moms and babies in breastfeeding. I am a mom of two toddlers myself. The long and not necessarily simple adventure of feeding her daughter has wrapped up with the creation of the first clothing designs, which were intended to bring relief and comfort, but also style and elegance. Let me tell you briefly my story.
Despite difficult beginnings with lactation after a cesarean section, I breastfed my daughter for more than 3 years. I ended up with an exceptional haijnid that hung on my chest non-stop – whoever survived knows. I have struggled with breast congestion since the momet of the onset of the navel.
I had several nursing bras that I walked around in nonstop, but despite the right size, I didn’t feel comfortable in them at all. The breasts were compressed all the time, especially with an extra breast pad.
When my breasts were still hot and hard, and I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, an experienced colleague advised me to throw away my bra and give my breasts freedom. And indeed, giving up the bra ended my congestion problem forever.
But it also meant giving up breastfeeding clothes, in which a bra had to be worn underneath, however, because the sewn-in zippers irritated the breasts or the breasts flew left and right, driving me crazy.
After many months of breastfeeding without a bra, in regular fitted cotton tops, I was beginning to miss the look of a supported bust that could be nicely exposed. However, I could not go back to hard, stiff bras that restrained my breathing and movement, not to mention inflammation.
I started thinking about the fact that if the bra should be a woman’s second skin, why is it a separate piece of clothing? What if we could have both – freedom, comfort, liberty and at the same time modeling, support, femininity? And then there’s the quick access to the breast!
That’s how the idea of creating nursing clothes in which the breasts are supported without the need for a bra, and access to the breasts is instant.
No additional fasteners, snaps, locks or fasteners. Without cutting into the body strong, stiff rubbers. Practical, but also stylish. Made of decent, soft cotton knit fabric manufactured in Poland. Sewn by a seamstress at a local workshop.
I invite you to the world of comfortable breastfeeding with Freemina clothes!
